Located in South of Phuket, the Racha Islands (or Raya according to the translation) are composed of Koh Racha Yai and Koh Racha Noi. The underwater world of these two islands consists of several coral gardens and few sand bars between 5 meters and 24 meters.
The northern and southern parts of Racha Noi Island are deeper and the more present sea currents please sometimes the passages of manta rays. There is very regularly, not to say always, a great underwater visibility at Racha Noi. The dives are done in clear water with bluish tints revealing the characteristics of shape and surface of the ocean bottom interesting.
Racha Yai is the closest island to Chalong to practice the scuba diving. It is an ideal place to explore the pleasures of the first scuba diving. The sea conditions are always favourable within a protected and safe environment. Experimented who may have been joined should feel reassured, there is also atypical curiosities to Racha Yai like the huge elephant’s statue submerged, the artificial reefs or the wrecks colonized by moray eels, schools of snappers and yellow goatfish.
The blue stripes triggerfish, the angelfishes, the pufferfishes, the blue fusiliers, the pipefishes fearless, the prudent garden eels, the peaceful turtles, the batfishes and the beautiful damselfishes among others live in many hard coral garden spread around gardens of these two islands.
