Anemone Reef is a colourful pinnacle located around 600m to the north of Shark Point. The site name emanates from the nature of the reef which is covered in large part of anemone for the greatest happiness of the clownfish, coral crabs and the other cleaner shrimps. The Thai name for this site is “Hin Jom” which means submerged rock.
Anemone reef presents architecture in pyramid why it is unlikely to get lost. Some gorgonians adorn the reef between the fields of coral tree and soft coral gardens with all the colours you could wish for. The dive comes true by turning pleasantly around the pinnacle to find out the leopard sharks and hawksbill sea turtles that spend their time between Anemone Reef and Shark Point.
Enormous schools of mackerel and yellow mullet are everywhere including various families of jackfish, snapper, grouper, sweetlips, moray eels, lionfishes, butterflyfishes and fusiliers. The red soldierfishes congregate together in several cracks which are also a hiding place for nudibranchs or smaller critters such as the seahorses. This list remains to complete after every dive ! Sometimes happens whale sharks join scuba divers during their underwater explorations.
