Koh Ha or Koh Haa literally means in Thai “The Five Islands”. The dives are usually organized around Koh Ha Neung : the reef number 1 and Koh Haa Yai : the reef number 5. The reefs numbered 3 to 5 are more conducive to discover the blue turquoise lagoons, the natural aquarium with tropical fish and to get your first underwater experience. The hard and soft coral gardens are scattered around the five reefs.
The most popular dive on the reef # 1 is called “The chimney” and allows you to play inside canyons and other cavities before crossing the paths of the marbled groupers and the pufferfishes. The dive for which the divers travel to Koh Ha is around the reef and number #5 and it is called “The Cathedral “. The caves shaped the top of the reef and it is possible to get in if you are equipped with a lamp or with a submarine torch to take advantage of these fantastic passages through the reef. You can surface inside and see large stalactites hanging over your head. The overhangs offer the lighting effects and colour for some beautiful photographs. The Islands number 2, 3 and 4 form a small lagoon and are a great place to make your first scuba diving experience with the safe environment.
Thousands of different forms of life there, among which of the corals, small invertebrates and other fishes multicoloured damselfishes. It is possible to meet the groupers, the moray eels, the octopus, the rays, the ghostpipefishess, the marine turtles, the reef sharks harmless, the prudent garden eels, the barracudas, fishes and the clownfishes. This list remains to complete after every dive! Sometimes happens whale sharks join divers during their underwater explorations. Koh Ha or Koh Haa is one of our favorite place to practice the scuba dive.
